Transmission Engineer Required
Job Description- Troubleshoot complex application and provisioning related problems.
- Fault Management, Reporting and Escalation.
- Manage Outside working hours support & troubleshooting.
- Dealing with network crises and emergencies at any time.
- Assist in executing technical changes to support operational guidelines.
- Identify deficiencies in Operations processes and recommend and implement improvements.
- Consult with and assist other departments and program areas in the operation of telephony network needs; research and plan needs to meet growth and support new activities.
- Understand the performance characteristics of existing telephony transmission network.
- Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- To provide and follow up proper RMA for any faulty equipment to assure the availability of the equipment.
- To conduct survey for any new telecom site for us to make sure that any new installations will follow proper standards and Acceptance Tests Procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent
- Strong Knowledge of a broad range of Telecommunications equipment.
- Familiar with the use of various test equipment, i.e. OSA, OTDR, VOA, Transmission Analyzers, Optical power meters, etc.
- Strong knowledge with Transmission Equipments SDH/PDH/DWDM/OTN.
- Familiar with Alcatel-Lucent SDH equipments, i.e. Lambda Unite, ADMU, AMU, AMS and AM1.
- Ability to read, review, interprets and understands technical documents (e.g., schematics, drawings, blueprints, layouts) Must be skilled in a variety of technologies data and voice.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Self motivated and dynamic individual.
- Work under pressure.
- Ability to deliver tasks assigned to him within a specified period of time.
- Able to adapt to a changing environment.
- Detailed working knowledge of backup technologies and recovery processes.
